The larger and closer a target, the faster it can be reached. Psychologist Paul Fitts proved in 1954: Time to reach a target depends on distance and size.

Practical Application: Design call-to-action buttons large, place important elements centrally, create sufficient spacing between clickable areas. Mobile interfaces need at least 44px touch targets.

Result: Reduced misclicks, faster task completion, less frustration. Large buttons near the user's attention measurably increase conversions.
